Born in 1985 in Lausanne, Trân Tran is a graduate artist in Visual Arts from the École Cantonale d’Arts de Lausanne (ECAL). Their work has been exhibited in Switzerland between Lausanne, Cully and Geneva.
After eight years of theatrical improvisation, they turned to theater and joined the amateur troupe Dossier K from 2005 to 2017. It is through this medium that they became interested in the body and was introduced to contemporary dance in 2014. In 2016, they created a first dance performance of 4 hours entitled I wanna dance with somebody during the collective exhibition aequum, at the Kugler foundry. In 2017, they presented Xin Chào (Hello!) as part of the Quarts d’Heure at the Théâtre Sévelin 36, which led to a selection for the Tanzfaktor 2018 touring festival, two programs, at the Comédie de Genève and at the Fête de la Musique de Genève.
They created HERE & NOW at the far° festival Nyon in August 2018 which was programmed at the festival OFF d’Avignon with the Sélection suisse à Avignon in July 2019 as well as at the Swiss selection in Edinburgh in February 2022.
The company TOAST was founded in 2017, bringing together artists, actors, dancers, architects, scientists and other culture lovers.
