LILA is dedicated to things going wrong, getting out of sync, overreaching, missing the cue, blackouts, chaos, nonsense, and the attempt to hide, play down, or make up for one’s mistakes.
Together, the three dancers struggle to keep the performance going at all costs and to deliver the important message to the audience, even when nobody understands anything and things go wrong along the way. They rehearse on stage, present, start over, and try to entertain the audience.
LILA is an amateurish love letter to contemporary dance and a humorous homage to failure. An attempt to escape the logical and the comprehensible and to create a new order.
