Jamila Baioia, born in 1995 in Fribourg, began hip-hop dancing in 2001 in Fribourg, notably at the Mastazz dance and co school. In 2018, she joined the pre-professional training program Varium in Barcelona, studying contemporary dance under the direction of Anna Sanchez and alongside Nicolas Ricchini, Nadine Gerspacher, and Robert Russel. She has participated in several productions in Yverdon-les-Bains, notably Trolsk in 2021 (Nicolas Roussi), and the MEET&CREATE residency in 2022 (Clara Delorme). She completed her training at La Manufacture in Lausanne in June 2023, with a Bachelor’s thesis entitled bsa7a. She is currently working on the project Daisies Decline, which explores duality, unison, and individuality, as well as on her personal research into the challenges of dual identity and multiculturalism.
