Weekend Prolongé celebrates Fribourg’s up-and-coming artists. Designed as a springboard for young talent in theater, dance, circus and performance, it supports recently graduated artists in their first steps towards professionalization.
Faced with the challenges faced by emerging artists, such as lack of visibility or difficulty in accessing initial opportunities, the festival offers a space for experimentation, dissemination and encounters. It encourages exchange, supports contemporary creation and offers the public a bold, multi-faceted program.
For this sixth edition, seven artists from Fribourg will be in the spotlight. Two artists from the Fais Comme Chez Toi festival in Sion and the Qué Toi festival in Neuchâtel will also join the program, as part of L’Oblique distribution network.
This year’s festival runs from Friday to Sunday. This new formula allows us to offer more accessible schedules, and to end the weekend with a convivial brunch at Les Menteurs, followed by an afternoon of shows.
An entire day, organized before the public opening, is dedicated to the artists. It offers a space for meeting, exchanging and connecting, with the aim of forging strong links within the young Fribourg scene. This privileged moment contributes to nurturing a sense of belonging right from the start of their careers.
Some performances will be followed by a stroll around the bluefactory site. This informal format extends the artistic experience and encourages dialogue between artists and audiences.
This year’s festival welcomes Isabelle Gremaud, Nicole Morel and Julien Schmutz. As godmothers and godfather, they offer an attentive eye and personalized support to the artists, sharing their experience and knowledge of the local cultural scene. In this way, they help to build bridges between the generations and promote the long-term integration of young artists into the artistic landscape of Fribourg.
