It is important to have a secret, a premonition of unknown things. Man must feel that he lives in a mysterious world in some respect: that inexplicable things happen and are experienced. Only then will life be complete. (CJ)

Dancer-choreographer Géraldine Chollet’s third creation is inspired by the medieval tradition of the Theatre of Mysteries. These community ceremonies were used to summon the afterlife in order to ask for a grace, to attract benevolence or to question oneself. The choreographer proposes here to open a dialogue with the sensitive in order to explore the relationship between what we have been given and what we will leave behind. To recognize what we have, to assume what we lack, to celebrate what may come.

Thank you to the many Palestinian dancers in Dabke who inspired me and whose basic step we used.
