Image from Cavalcade

Cavalcade explores the relationship between the ear and the eye, and questions how one can influence the other. While vision often dominates our perception, this work proposes to shift this hierarchy by placing sound and music at the heart of the research. The aim of this project is to question how hearing can alter, enrich or even transform what we see. How does sound become an actor in its own right, capable of redefining visual perception and generating a new sense? Can we see differently thanks to what we hear? How can a shift in sound, a resonance or a rhythm color or divert the interpretation of an action? A choreographic project on the edge of the concert stage, Cavalcade brings together two dancers and a musician to explore the possible interactions between sound and movement.
